Nathan was gracious enough to host us at short notice and what a find Silkwood is. Whilst I'd been aware of it for a number of years this was my first chance to shoot there. A number of areas to shoot in so you can work studio lighting or natural light as you need. Couple of interesting spaces that reflect the mill and aged setting. A plethora of seats, chairs, sofas and posing options and more lights than I really knew what to do with, settling on two for the most part. And being a mill, Silkwood has the al important ceiling height so that you can get good height on your lights and use a book for great portrait lighting positioning and angles. Nathan was attentive without being in the way. My first time in this fantastic studio It was such a cool and creative space! Nathaniel, the kind, respectful, and caring owner, made my experience absolutely delightful. He met me near my car and helped with my heavy bag. Throughout the day, he kept the studio warm and cozy, ensuring I was comfortable. The temperature was perfect! Nathaniel's attentiveness was a joy to have around. He also assisted all the photographers, helping them set up lighting and anything else they needed. The studio is huge, with a big photo cove, a small decorated room, and several corners with fantastic backdrops. Everything is thoughtfully arranged, and the equipment is top-notch.
